Connection Issues

Device won't connect to WiFi

Symptoms: LED blinks slowly, device doesn't appear online

Solutions:

  1. Check network compatibility - Only 2.4 GHz networks are supported
  2. Verify credentials - Re-enter WiFi password carefully
  3. Check signal strength - Move device closer to router
  4. Router settings - Ensure MAC filtering isn't blocking the device
  5. Factory reset - Hold button for 10 seconds, then reconfigure

USB not recognized

Symptoms: Device not detected when connected via USB

Solutions:

  1. Try a different cable - Use a data cable, not charge-only
  2. Try a different port - Front ports may have issues, try rear USB
  3. Install drivers - Download CP2102 drivers from Silicon Labs
  4. Check Device Manager (Windows) - Look for unknown devices

LED Status Codes

Pattern Meaning
Solid green Normal operation, connected
Slow blink Connecting to WiFi
Fast blink Error condition
Breathing Standby/idle mode
Off No power or deep sleep

Error Recovery

Factory Reset

To reset the device to factory defaults:

  1. Power off the device
  2. Hold the BOOT button
  3. While holding, connect USB power
  4. Continue holding for 5 seconds
  5. Release the button

The device will restart with default settings. You'll need to reconfigure WiFi.

Recovery Mode

If firmware update fails or device is unresponsive:

  1. Disconnect USB
  2. Hold BOOT button
  3. Connect USB while holding BOOT
  4. Device enters recovery mode (LED stays off)
  5. Use Web Flasher to reflash firmware

Performance Issues

Device responds slowly

  1. Check WiFi signal strength
  2. Reduce network congestion
  3. Update to latest firmware
  4. Power cycle the device

Configuration changes don't take effect

  1. Ensure you saved changes
  2. Power cycle after saving
  3. Try factory reset if issue persists
